I have been changing the world one day at a time since I was 18 years old.  When I was 18 I took the first step toward changing the world when I began to change myself.  The moment I began to work toward being a respectable member of society, the society I came into contact with began to give me permission to influence and change it.  This has given me great opportunities.

I have spent the majority of my career as an adolescent substance abuse counselor.  I will one day go back to that when I finish graduate school.  My goal is to open up my own residential adolescent program.  I am currently working with a national drug counselor certification board on developing a credentialing system and exam for adoelscent drug counselors.  I also work as the Program Director for a non-profit in North San Diego County that provides housing and case management services to homeless families.  I oversee the operation and counseling for 188 beds in total. The majority of those beds have children who were formerly homeless in them.
